| Anti-police protest at Ramgarh | | | JAMMU, Aug 19 : Alleging that police had joined hands with the accused who beat up a family at Ratanpur in Ramgarh on August 13 last, people today held an anti-police demonstration in the village.
On August 13, Dayal Chand and his wife Bachno Devi were beaten by their neighbours over some trivial issue. While Dayal was still undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital, his wife, who got her leg fractured, had been discharged from the hospital.
Alleging that police were dragging their feet in the case under political pressure and had not arrested any of the accused, Dayal's family members and villagers today protested at Ratanpur against the Ramgarh police.
When contacted, police, however, said they had arrested two persons in the case. |
