Van-Mahotsava celebrated at Muthi

Jammu, Aug 20: Equating Van-Mahotsava programmes with the movement which has now gripped the country to cleanse public life of corruption, K.C.Dubey, president, Jammu Educational Trust and the former Director, All India Radio asked the children to always strive to excel in studies, sports, service and professional activities and achieve success in all desirable fields on basis of merit and capability only and not to seek any favoritism in matters where merit alone could serve the humanity.
He said that this attitude alone could make India a great nation and only then, the people of India could achieve prosperity, equity and social justice.
K.C.Dubey was the chief guest at a Van-Mahotsava function organized by Jammu Rural Development Society of Muthi, Jammu at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Muthi in which the staff and students of the Shining Star High School Muthi and the functionaries of Sanskar Bharati also participated.
During the programme, the children and the staff of the schools planted around 100 saplings of Amla, Amaltas, Jatropha,Neem etc. having ornamental, medicinal and ethical importance and presented Radha Krishna bhajans in their classical attire.
Programme was started with the welcome song sung by students of Hr.Sec.School Muthi.
Other speakers who included young students of shining star school, the principal of Govt. Higher Secondry School Muthi, Kulbhushan Sharma president of the Jammu Rural Development Society of Muthi, Om Prakash Bhuria North Zone coordinator of Sanskar Bharati, teachers of Shining Star High School Muthi, representatives of Krishak Mitra organization, Dehat Sandesh spoke about the importance and methods of environmental protection which had a sound base in the country’s cultural and traditional practices such as Haryali Amavas for plantation, Govardhan pooja to conserve soil moisture through resources such as cow-dung manure i.e. Gobar Dhan, etc.
