'Chillar Party’ held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 20: The department of Computer Sciences GCW Parade Jammu, organized a fresher’s party named 'Chillar Party’ in the premises of college to welcome the freshers. The director college higher education, Sham Lal Gupta was the chief guest while Kiran Bakshi presided over the occasion. The auspicious day began with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding of Goddess Saraswati by director Sham Lal Gupta ,the Principal G.C.W Parade , Kiran Bakshi and other senior faculty members. The mesmerizing music, songs, flash freezing lights and the exuberant students were the defining moments in the party. It was the day of love, affection, trust and above all the bond of togetherness and belongingness. The program began with the formal welcome notes of the fresher by the senior students The juniors were given proper opportunity to display their talent and then answered all the questions designed by their seniors to judge their potential. Principal Kiran Bakshi appreciated the efforts of the department in taking initiative in arranging such an event which provided the platform to young students to display their potential, and develop a friendly atmosphere. She further emphasized that such events help in healthy interaction among seniors and juniors, helping to create positive environment in the department. Parveen Singh HOD computer sciences congratulated seniors for all the arrangements. He said fresher party is the moment when seniors whole heartedly and joyfully welcome their juniors. Such a fun, frolic and rejuvenated moment mark the start of the session and the new students must make all their efforts in raising the name of the institution. He concluded with the point that such programs are organized so as to generate the feeling of fraternity among seniors and juniors. In this way formal introduction of juniors & seniors put a foundation of long-term relationship. First, it was the introduction round which was then followed by a talent round. Miss Fresher and all the other titles were selected, on the basis of their performance in different rounds. Chahat Sharma was declared Miss Fresher. Miss Minerva Gupta was titled Miss Personality. Miss Palak Sharma was titled Miss Well Dressed. Miss Vinica Bhat was titled Perfect Smile. Miss Sonali Khorana was titled Congenial.
