| Statistics dept, JU organises freshers party | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 20: Jammu University’s Department of Statistics organised a fresher-cum-farewell party.
The function was inaugurated by the Head of the department Prof JP Singh Joorel.
On the occasion, Prof Joorel appreciated the efforts of 3rd semester students to organise such an event.
Prof Joorel addressed the student to actively participate in cultural activities and advised the senior students not to indulge in the ragging. He welcomed the freshers and extended best wishes to the out going students.
The students of the department presented the various cultural items in honour of the incoming students. The freshers also entertained the audience by performing the cultural activities. On the basis of fresher performance the audience judges the Bindu and Ashfaq as Miss and Mr Fresher of the department, respectively. The faculty member of the department Dr. Rahul Gupta, Dr. Parmil, Dr. Pawan Kumar and Dr. Sunil were also present on the occasion.
