Symposium on “Solar Energy” organized at Bishnah

JAMMU, August 20: GDC, Bishnah organized a symposium on “Solar Energy- A Renewable Source of Energy” on the inaugural day of “Sadbhavna Week Celebration” under the aegis of NSS Unit headed by Professor Kiran Pathania, N S S Programme Officer.
Professor Kalpana Kesar , Principal of the College was the chief guest on the occasion. She stressed the need of harnessing solar energy as renewable source for meeting the future energy requirement of the world, as we are heading towards the depletion of non-renewable sources of energy.
Further, she exhorted it as the best option for pollution free energy source and should be made a viable option. She also appreciated the efforts of NSS unit of the college for organizing the event.
Professor Vijay Sharma also addressed the students about the relevance and interpretation of solar energy as a renewable source of energy.
Earlier Kiran Pathania motivated the students to be aware of the changing trends of energy generation, particularly solar energy,& disseminate the knowledge to their surrounding milieu in order to prepare them to the imminent energy requirement challenges to be faced in the near future.
Further, ten speakers participated in the event presenting their views regarding the topic. Among the speaker, Rakesh Jamwal ,Mandeep Kaur ,Shivali Khajuria, were adjudged as first , second , third winners of the event and Seema Mottan was given a consolation prize.
The symposium was adjudged by the panel of judges comprising Professor Vijay Sharma, Professor Sunita Gupta and Professor Preeti Dogra.
