Notorious snatcher arrested | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 20: Police today arrested a middle aged snatcher, who escaped after snatching cash worth Rs 1 lakh from a person outside Jammu and Kashmir Bank over a month back in Rehari area, official sources said. They said that Rehari police, based on specific inputs about his presence near the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, conducted raid and apprehended him. His identity, as per the official sources was established as Vivek, 32, from Tikri area of Udhampur district. The official sources said he had allegedly snatched a cash of Rs one lakh over a month back from outside JK Bank when a person, who withdrew cash, came out. Police investigation, according to the official sources, revealed that he has spent two-and-a-half-years in the Tihar jail in 2000 after he was arrested by Delhi Police in a theft case. A senior police official said that they have yet not recovered the stolen cash from him.
