JPVM demands creation of Kailash Yatra Board

JAMMU, Aug 20: Jammu Paryatan Vikas MandaI (JPVM), an apex body of 22 organisations related with tourism and pilgrimage trades and some other stakeholders in same, are now taking of every opportunity to promote the Kailash Kund Yatra, through various means.
A meeting of the Mandal held here today, to which MLC from Bhaderwah Naresh Gupta was invited as special guest, resolved to make all efforts to promote Kailash Yatra at Bhaderwah and bring it on the tourism map of the country.
The Mandal has demanded that Kailash Yatra Board, on the pattern of Shiv Khodi Yatra Board, with SDM Bhaderwah or DC Doda should be setup to promote the Yatra. Eventually the Yatra period should be extended to 4 months, by providing adequate infrastructure and facilities to the prospective pilgrims.
The state govt, mainly the state department of tourism and culture was appealed to supplement the efforts the private stakeholder in promoting the Yatra. The Vikas Mandal members who participated the meeting included Ravi Mahajan Chairman, Kuldeep Wahi President, Inderjeet Khajuria Gen Secy, Davinder Chaudhary President Taxi Operators union, Ashaq Hussain President Talab Khatikan and Pawan Gupta Gen Secy All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association.
Jammu Paryatan Vikas MandaI has hailed the decision by the concerned authorities to press in air service for ten day long Kailash Kund Yatra, in Bhaderwah, commencing from tomorrow.
This will facilitate high budget tourists and pilgrims to undertake the Yatra from Bhaderwah to Kailash Kund, the fare for which to and fro has been fixed at Rs 5490. The JPVM has, however demanded that annual Kailash Yatra should be brought on the tourist map of the country, by duly publicizing it and taking appropriate steps to attract pilgrims and tourists from all over the country to undertake the Kailash Kund pilgrimage.
