| Randhir calls on Pawar, demands International Airport for Jammu | | | JAMMU DEC-06 Former Minister and President Nationalist Congress Party Thakur Randhir Singh, who is currently in New Delhi to attend the two days National meet of Constorum of Indian Farmers Association, today called on the Union Agriculture Minister and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and presented a memorandum to him demanding construction of a new airport at Jammu naming after Mata Vaisnodevi. Pleading that the existing airport is very small and has no scope for expansion and up gradation, an international airport of world standards has become a necessity keeping in view the heavy influx of lakhs of pilgrims and tourists across the country. According to a party hand out, the Union Agriculture Minister is reported to have assured Randhir Singh that he will call a meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister within next three days and take up the issue on prioritory basis and discuss the possibility of laying a new international airport at Jammu, the winter capital of the State
