| BJP holds public meetings against corruption, price rise | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 20: On the second leg of the tour of twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas , pradesh prabhari Jagdish Mukhi, party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma and other leaders addressed a massive public meeting at Rajouri on Saturday under party’s month long public awareness campaign over the burning issues of price-rise, corruption and black money. Shamsher Singh Manhas, while addressing the gathering said that the party, like other states, has launched state wide campaign over certain important issues concerning aam aadmi which have exposed the Congress-led UPA government who has long been not only shielding corrupt elements but also perpetuating a class of black marketers, promoting handful of capitalists from the corporate world. He made scathing attack on UPA government who has virtually converted the nation into a nation of corrupt government and thereby has created a chaos-an unbearable situation for aam aadmi to live a normal life. This was BJP only which had first raised voice to bring back black money from foreign banks and for which the party has very loudly raised its concern inside the parliament and among the public, he added and declared that the party cadres have been directed to reach the masses and educate them as to who is responsible for the present situation in the country. Jagdish Mukhi, in his address, said that the overwhelming response to the BJP’s public awareness campaign has made it clear that every Indian citizen, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region, is fed up with the hollow slogans like “Congress ka haath gareeb ke saath” and has realized that this party has always misled the people for the sake of votes. In reality, Congress which talks about high norms parliamentary democracy, has always worked for a fragment of population belonging to rich elite and also who have access to the powerful functionaries of UPA likes of A.Raja, Sheela Dixit, Kalmadi, Kanimozhi etc. thereby widening the gap between rich and the poor. He further stated that on price-rise, coterie of UPA government has always misled the common public of this nation and very frequently economist turned politician PM Manmohan Singh has openly aired that he doesn’t have any magical wand to bring down inflation. Jagdish Mukhi came heavily on UPA government for not taking action against the corrupt elements who could be easily punished under the law but instead shielded them. This has been the main reason of provocation of the masses who have now been seen raising their vent against corruption and government at Ram Lila grounds and various other places in the entire country. Jugal Kishore Sharma (MLA) said that although the UPA has become a den of corruption, our state too is heading towards getting the distinction of being the most corrupt state in independent India. He said that while the Congress has ruled the Centre for maximum period after 1947, here in J&K it also shared power with NC,PDP and even had its own government during the past and the history is witness to the fact that its graph has been going down due to its policies which have resulted into manifold increase in the prices of essential commodities, promoted corrupt elements and provided safe passage for transfer of Indian money into foreign banks, which is indeed unfortunate for the nation. Chander Prakash Ganga, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Sat Sharma (C.A), Vibodh Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Yogesh Sharma, Sushil Sudan, Rajinder Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Vaid, Anil Gupta, Dev Raj, Ramesh Chander, Varun Chandan, Zahid Khan, Farooq Khan, Mohd. Ameen, Davinder Sharma, Shama Madam and Neeru Sharma were prominent among those who also addressed the meeting. The programme was organized by Rajouri district unit under its president Yogesh Sharma.
