| Magotra, Gupta elected as president, general secretary of Dogri Sanstha | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 21: In the triennial election of Dogri Sanstha Jammu held today, Lalit Magotra and Veena Gupta were elected president and general secretary of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu respectively unanimously. All office bearers mainly Pradyuman Singh Jindrahia and Chhatra Pal as vice-presidents, Nirmal Vinod as secretary, Virender Kesar as literary secretary, Chaman Arora as treasurer and Gianeshwar as publicity secretary were elected unanimously.
In a well attended meeting of the general council of Dogri Sanstha, the members decided unanimously to repeat the whole previous team of the office bearers.
Earlier Veena Gupta , the general secretary of the former team ,presented the report of Sanstha’s activities for the last three years which include seminars, symposia, workshops, press conferences, music programmes, folk-fairs, publications, literary get-togethers etc. In all 140 programmes were held during the last term.
After the presentation of the report , the previous team of the office bearers tendered resignation and the process of election started under the supervision of Baldev Singh, who has been appointed the election officer by the Working Committee of Dogri Sanstha.
While thanking the members after election, the newly elected president of Dogri Sanstha, Lalit Magotra said that though there are many challenges being faced by Dogri but there is no dearth of opportunities in the age of information technology and mass communication.
He also agreed to the suggestion put forth by the members to open a regional office of Dogri Sanstha at Kathua.
