EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar , Aug 21: Winning accolades and large number of fans, the two Kashmiri artists Rayes Mohi Ud Din and Shehla Arif have moved to the quarterfinal level of national talent show India’s Got Talent Season-3 on Colors TV while competing with the artists from different states.
Impressing judges and the viewers across the country Rayes Mohi Ud Din and Shela Arif performed a standing comedy act on 19 August which left viewers holding their ribs besides leaving a social message at the end.
Rayes Mohi Ud Din is a well known mimicry artist and used to host a mimicry and music show on the Vividh Bharti’s commercial broadcasting services-(CBS) Srinagar centre.
Earlier, Rayes Mohi Ud Din and his theatre production group, Piedpiper Theatre Productions performed a street play on drug addiction in collaboration with NGO-Cause on 26 June 2011 in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K which was the first street play in volatile Kashmir after more than two decades of turmoil.

Rayes Mohi Ud Din said that Kashmiris are talented and require proper exposure to bring forth their talent.
Pinning the hope that their achievement will give boost to the Kashmiri artists to compete at the national level, he said that they will make all efforts to keep up with the expectations of the fans and viewers. “Our next performance will be much better than this one,” asserted Rayes Mohi Ud Din.

Replying to the query about his experiences while performing on such a big stage, Rayes Mohi Ud Din said that it was a learning experience as they competed against the best artists from across the length and breadth of India. “Today, we are representing Kashmir at such a big level, our performance must give impetus to the local talent so that they will come and perform in upcoming editions so that people will come to know about the hidden talent in Kashmir,” wished Rayes.
