BJP intensifies its mass awareness campaign, two programmes organized at Kathua | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, August 21: With the continuous visits of central leaders in different districts of the state, BJP's month long awareness programmes over the issues of corruption, price rise and black money are getting further intensified with each passing day. In this series, two programmes were organised at Kathua and Samba on Sunday with participation of a large number of general public besides activists and supporters of the party. State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, Pradesh Seh-Prabhari Dr. Anil Jain, National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh and party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma were the main speakers. In his address, Shamsher Singh Manhas said that thousands of patriotic Indians sacrificed their lives for freedom of the country with a dream of having government to be run by own people which will be honest, accountable and people-centric. They were not aware that after independence Congress will form the government at centre and promote corruption and pose threat to the survival of "aam aadmi" by making manifold increase in the prices of essential commodities. Pradesh Seh Prabhari Dr. Anil Jain, in his address, presented the details of some major scams and scandals during the recent years under the Prime Ministership of Congress leader Dr. Manmohan Singh. He said that the Congress has never been honest towards the welfare of the common citizens. It has always betrayed the people after assuming power. Dr. Nirmal Singh, while addressing at Kathua, reminded the Congress-led UPA that time has changed and with the modern means of communication the people have direct access to every part of the country, have more authentic information and are well aware of the situation. Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the BJP's campaign to expose the UPA for its anti-people policies is being appreciated by the people.
