| BJP felicitates newly elected ‘Panches and Sarpanches’ of Marh | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, August 21: The state BJP has felicitated the newly elected Panches and Sarpanches of Marh constituency in a function.
The newly elected panch and Sarpaches were felicitated by former state president and MLA Jammu east Ashok Khajuria, MLA Nagrota, Jugal Kishore and MLA Marh Choudhary Sukhnandan.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Khajuira congratulated the newly elected Panches and Sarpanches and advised them to serve the people honestly and with dedication so that they may achieve the aim of local government at grass root level.
While demanding implementation of 73rd and 74th constitution amendments in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that BJP is commitment for and will continue its struggle for grant of full powers to the panchayats by implementation of 73rd amendment of the Indian constitution.
“BJP totally resented the statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that power to the Panchayats not at the cost of MLAs”, he said adding that they want powers to panchayat in Jammu and Kahsmir.
He demanded that jurisdiction of Lokpal institution to be extended to Jammu and Kashmir also to eradicate corruption.
MLA Marh Ch Sukhnandan also demanded powers for Panchayats and said that 73rd amendment to be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior functionaries, prominent leaders of Marh, party workers and people of Marh were also present on the occasion.
