| WCC (B) wins Summer Cup Cricket tourney | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, August 21: Whites Cricket Club (WCC) B clinched the Summer Cup Cricket Tournament trophy outplaying Sai Cricket Club by 24 runs in the final played today at Jagti Township, near here today.
Batting first, after winning the toss, WCC set a target of 117 runs for the loss of nine wickets in given 20 overs, which, in reply, Sai Club could not chase and bowled out for 92 runs in 19.2 overs.
Vineet Raina was top scorer with 20-ball 33 runs while Manoj and Jagdeep contributed 25 and 19 runs respectively. From Sai Club, Sheshu and Ashwani took three wickets each while Sanjay bagged two.
Later, Sai Club could not chase the total and lost all their wickets for 92 runs in 19.2 overs. Shaban and Sushil were main scorers with 17 runs each. Viru and Sonu added 14 and 15 runs respectively. Rahul Badri bowled extremely well taking away five wickets thereby causing early dismissal of opponent innings. He took five wickets while Deepak Fotedar bagged three and Rajesh Verma took two.
For his brilliant bowling performance of five wickets, Rahul Badri was adjudged man of the match.
