Rahul Bose trains state rugby girls | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, August 21: In a bid to enhance the techniques of rugby players, Jammu and Kashmir Rugby Association, in association with J&K State Sports Council held training session under the guidance of former India captain, Rahul Bose at Bakshi Stadium, here today. The special coaching session was part of the ten-day coaching camp which stated yesterday. Besides providing the regular training to the players, Rahul interacted with the players and shared his personal experience as a player. Later, speaking to the visiting media persons, Rahul said “The main aim of organizing such sessions is to encourage the players and to boost the morale of the players. There are many things that these players have to learn”. Expressing his happiness over the participation of the girls in such events Rahul said “The response shown by the players so far is good, we need to encourage these girls further. I hope many Kashmiri players will book their berths in the national rugby team”. He also expressed his gratefulness to the J&K State Sports Council for helping in the conduct of such events. The camp is also being organised to select state girls’ team for participation in All Indian Women’s Rugby Tournament to be held at Balewadi in Pune from August 27. About 50 girls are attending the ongoing camp.
