Sham inaugurates staff quarters at SDH Akhnoor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 21:
Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma today said that during last three years massive health infrastructure has been created across the state by way of prospective planning to meet the future requirements of the people. Addressing a mammoth gathering after inaugurating doctors’ and para- medical staff quarters at Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, the Minister said that government’s focus was on both expansion and consolidation of health infrastructure by opening new health institutions and equipping these with adequate manpower and required health care and diagnostic equipments. The newly constructed 3-storey block has been completed at a cost of Rs.335.30 lakh by PWD (R&B) Division No-II, having 9 quarters for medical officers and 12 quarters for para medical staff. Sharma congratulated the doctors, para-medicos, staff members as well as the local people for the completion of the new block at SDH Akhnoor. He said that equal. Describing public utilities essential ingredient for raising the living standard of the people, Sharma said that the correlation of various scheme under different departments is imperative to redress developmental needs of the growing population. He impressed upon the officers and engineers to ensure timely completion of the development works to ensure that the benefits of the same reach to the people. He said that it was the endeavour of the coalition government to make all essential service easily available to the people of the state especially those living in rural and border areas. Sharma asked the ASHA’s workers to reach out to the rural women folk and aware them about the benefits of the schemes of the health department. He said that honorarium of ASHA’s worker have been increased adding that Rs1000 cash is being provided to them annually for uniforms besides getting their identity cards. He also instructed to BMO Akhnoor to display a chart listing the number of outdoor patients being treated annually in the hospital.
