Govt non serious on contractual lecturers’ issue: NPSU

Jammu, Aug 21: National Panther Students Union (NPSU) today took a serious note of non-seriousness of the state govt. towards the issue of contractual lecturers of the govt degree colleges who are on agitational path since long.
NPSU demanded that these contractual lectures should be regularize for the smooth functioning of the colleges so that the students community should not suffer.
Addressing the media persons in a press conference Partap Singh Jamwal (Provincial President NPSU) lambasted the state govt. for lingering on the issue of the contractual lecturers due to which the students community suffering a lot. He demanded that the contractual lecturers of govt. degree colleges should be regularized without any further delay.
He further said that inviting fresh applications for the posts of contractual lecturers every year is just the wastage of time and money and is not a useful exercise. He said that the services of a candidate once selected for the post of contractual lecturer after counselling should not be discontinued after one academic session rather the services of the said candidates should continue further.
He said that it pertinent to mention here that due to this unfruitful exercise of the state govt students community suffering huge loss every year and talking of current academic session he said that the candidates who were selected during the counseling could not their joining orders till date making the students community to suffer in various colleges.
He warned the state govt. to solve the genuine issue of these contractual lecturers with in coming assembly session otherwise NPSU will be left with no other options and will be forced to join the struggle of contractual lecturers.
While speaking on the occasion he came heavily on public services commission who has issued the dates for the interviews of KAS aspirants without taking the festival of Jammu province on consideration as the dates notified for the interviews fall on the date on which there is a Janamashthmi festival is celebrated in the Jammu province with a great fervour.
He said that before issuing the dates for such type of interviews PSE should go through the calendar of Jammu province also.
Other who were present in this press conference included Jabad Iqbal, Sahil Sharma, Aditya Hans, Parveen Sharma, Rohit Balli etc
