| Ajaz Jan expresses grief over accidental deaths | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 21: MLA Haveli Poonch Aijaz Ahmed Jan has expressed grief and anguish over the sudden and untimely deaths of the civilians who lost their lives in a tragic accident.
A total of 18 persons lost their lives and the rest critically injured when a canter bus travelling from Surankote to Poonch met the tragic accident.
The MLA Poonch expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the strength to the families to bear the irreparable losses.
He expressed his thanks to the Army authorities for air lifting the injured. This helped in saving the precious lives. He also expressed his thanks to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for sanctioning the ex-gratia relief of Rs. 1.00 lacs each to the next of kin of the deceased.
Though at the same time, he also demanded the ex gratia amount to be doubled to Rs. 2.00 lacs atleast.
He also demanded the govt. jobs for the next of kin of the deceased.
