| CB presents challan against four accused in cheating case | | | JAMMU DEC-01 Crime Branch Jammu has presented challan against four persons of a non banking Finance Company ‘Him Forest Ltd Company’ in a cheating case in the court of Excise Magistrate Jammu. On a complaint lodged by Prem Nath resident of Gangyal, the CB registered a case FIR NO 27/2001, 420/120B/RPC in Police Station Crime Branch Jammu and presented challan against Janak Raj Bansal son of Mool Chanad Bansal, Mool Chand, Usha Bansal wife of Janak Raj Bansal and Anil Jain of Panchkhula Haryana. Giving facts of the case, Sunil Sharma Senior Superintendent of Police Crime and Railways said that the complainant Prem Nath had deposited Rs.20, 000 as a fixed deposit with ‘Him Forest Ltd Company’ for one year but on maturity no payment was made to him. A payee’s account cheque already issued to him by the said company was also bounced for want of sufficient amount. The said company cheated some more persons in the same way, and the matter was got preliminary enquired into and later on a formal case was registered, the SSP added. During the course of investigation, the statements of prosecution witnesses were recoded u/s161 Cr PC and record related to the case seized and got examined through Forensic Science Laboratory and it came to light that accused Janak Raj Bansal in association with Usha Bansal , Mool Chand and Anil Jain registered a non-banking finance company under the name and style of ‘Him Forest Ltd Company’ and opened branches in states of North India including Jammu and Kashmir in violation of SEBI/RBI regulations and started collecting money from public on the plea that a handsome rate of interest more than the other banks would be given to the depositors and issued post dated cheques to them which were bounced. After commenting such a cheating, the alleged accused went underground and left the depositors in lurch .The offences were proved against the accused and accordingly a challan was presented in the court of law for judicial determination, the SSP added.
