Culprits behind attack on ET staffer still at large | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu: Those who assaulted the Kishtwar representative of Early Times Saturday last had not been picked up by police even after three days of the incident. Asif Iqbal Naik was assaulted by some miscreants inside the Kishtwar district hospital Saturday last while he was discharging his professional duties. Even after a protest by him and others in Kishtwar town on the day of the incident, police had failed to apprehended the accused who stood identified. He was assaulted allegedly at the behest of a militant-turned-Congress leader and sarpanch of Hullar as ET had carried a story about a fight at Bandrena which was instigated by him. Even as the sarpanch was named by ET staffer in his complaint, police had not brothered to even question him. He continues to roam freely in Kishtwar. Meanwhile, police had also failed to arrest Shahid Hussain and Mansoor Ahmad who were allegedly involved in the incident of eve-teasing at Bandrena. People were protesting at Bandrena against this incident when some persons had assaulted them allegedly at the behest of the sarpanch. |
