| Janamashtami celebrated with fervor | | |

JAMMU, August 22: Janamashtami was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at ISKCON Temple, Dream City, Muthi. Thousands of devotees from every nook and corner of the winter capital, thronged the ISKCON temple and took the blessings of Sri Sri Gaur Radha Krishna.
Devotees were chanting the mahamantra, "Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare”.
Earlier the programme started with Mangal Aarti, followed by day long AkhandKirtan. In the evening Gaur Aarti was performed with kirtan and devotees were seen dancing on the bajans of Lord Krishna.
Students from various schools performed cultural programmes based on Lord Krishna and mesmerized the gathering, with their performance.
Addressing the gathering H G Sarvabhaum Battacharya Dasa highlighted the teachings of Lord Krishna according to Srimad Baghwat Gita.
He said that men of small intelligence worship demigods and their fruits are limited and temporary, also who worship the demigods go to their planets but bonafide devotees of lord Krishna ultimately reaches to supreme abode.
In the end Matki ceremony was performed which was followed by Falahar Prashadam distribution to devotees.
