| Khore faces Akhnoor in inter-zone volleyball final | | | EARLY TIME REPOT
JAMMU, August 23: Khore zone shall take on Akhnoor zone in final of the boys’ under-19 volleyball event in the ongoing inter-zone (kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball) competitions of Jammu district, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government Higher Secondary School Domana, near here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Khore zone trounced R S Pura zone in straight easy sets of 25-07, 25-04 while Akhnoor zone outplayed Bishnah zone in similar fashion making it 25-16, 25-05.
Quarterfinals: Khore zone bt Satwari 25-12, 25-12; Akhnoor zone bt Jammu 25-11, 25-12; R S Pura zone bt Marh 25-11, 25-11; Bishnah zone bt Bhalwal 25-12, 25-18.
Earlier, the two-day competition was declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Mohd Ayaz Khan. He wished the participating teams from all the eight zones of the district success in the competition.
Among others present were Kiranjeet Singh, Sher Singh, Mulkh Raj, Ram Kumar (all ZEPOs), Surinder Singh, Kiran Jyoti and Rajni Bhudki.

KABADDI: (Pre-quarterfinal) Marh zone bt Khore 31-16. (Quarterfinals): Akhnoor zone bt Bhalwal 27-08; Bishnah zone bt Jammu 23-07; R S Pura zone bt Satwari 25-17; Marh zone bt Gandhi Nagar 31-19.
KHO-KHO: Bishnah zone bt Satwari by six points; Bhalwal zone bt Jammu by one point; Akhnoor zone bt Bishnah by 12 points; Bhalwal zone bt Marh by 14 points.
