EARLY TIMES REPOT
Jammu, Aug 24: In a meeting with his party activists and like minded KPs at New Delhi, Kundan Kashmiri, national president KPC while highlighting the demand of purposefull rehabilitation of displaced KPs in the valley, stated that there is nothing wrong if displaced KPs are rehabilitated in consolidated and concentrated manner at the land of Kashyap which is their right of freedom of resettlement and can not be denied.
He said that state & central government has adopted secularist dispensation for the return of KPs to resettle them at previous locations, villages and towns, without their choice, is not possible under present situations and circumstances.
He said that KPs return is not ordinary issue but it is return of ethnically cleansed minority, it is return of indigenous people to their birth land, it is return of religious minority which has been persecuted by the majority community, it is return of an exiled community abandoned by the democratically elected Governments, it is return of community portrayed by the India state as its secularist model in Kashmir.
Therefore, return and rehabilitation of KPs has to be under very clear terms and conditions and as per their choice & wishes.
He said that their survival, development and future concerns needs to be kept in mind & insulated through constitutional and institutional guarantees to settle the problem once for all.
Manipulated and fake return cannot help Government to solve the problem of KP victims. Besides above, political demands of valley based political parties like PDP, NC and Hurriyat are also basic huddles for willful return of KP’s to Kashmir valley.
High-lighting the importance of unity within community & community organizations, Kundan Kashmiri stated that unity is only mantra to achieve our objective and appealed all KP organizations to respond positively toward the unity efforts going at present under the banner of KSD, in the overall interest of community.
KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri also demanded that KPs should be part & parcel of any nature of Kashmir related dialogue. Commission of enquiry to be constituted to probe for armed insurgency and selective killings of KP community in 1989 -90 and onwards.
The report of the enquiry into 1986 Anantnag attacks on Kashmir Pandits and their religious properties to be made in public.
Search for two missing Kashmiri Pandits namely Sushil Raina of district Anantnag and Hira Lal Koul of Badgam is to be accelerated. Valley based Kashmiri Pandits to be rehabilitated at one place and their youths to be provided with government jobs.
Forced occupation and encroachment of Hari Parbat land at Srinagar, Kashmir by the authorities of Green land School to be removed/ vacated at the earliest.
