| Licenses of brick kilns to be cancelled for overcharging: DC Budgam | | |

BUDGAM, Aug 24:
The 5-member flying squad constituted by the District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Rafi to ensure implementation of new rate list for sale and purchase of bricks, in its continued drive today imposed a penalty of Rs 1.33 lakh against brick kiln owners of tehsil Chadoora for over-charging than government fixed price list. In another incident, a brick kiln owner of the area was forced to pay back Rs 6000 to a customer from Kanidajan village which were charged from him in excess to the fixed rates.
The District Development Commissioner, Budgam has once again cautioned the brick kiln owners of Budgam to strictly adhere to the rate list fixed by the district administration otherwise their licenses shall be cancelled. The new rates per 1000 bricks (A class) have been fixed at Rs 4100 and B class brick Rs 3100 per thousand.
