| Eid-ul-Fitr arrangements finalized at Jammu | | |

JAMMU, Aug 24:
The arrangements for ensuing Eid-ul-Fitr were finalized at a meeting held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma here this afternoon.
Senior officers from Health, Police, Municipality, Education, PDD, PHE, PWD, CA&PD, Legal Metrology, Tourism, Transport and other allied departments, besides representatives from social and religious organizations attended the meeting. During the meeting, necessary arrangements like sanitation, medicare, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, cleanliness in and around the mosques where prayers were perform on the auspicious occasion and other important issues were also discussed in detail.
Besides directing Power Development and PHE Departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during Ramdhan days and on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, the functionaries of the twin departments were also directed to make available water tanks and generators at major mosques of the city on Shab-e-qadar and Jamiat -ul-vidha. The PWD was asked to carry on necessary repairs on Eid- gah and Talab Katinka area roads so that people may not face any inconvenience to reach the venues for Eid prayers, while CAPD and Legal metrology departments were asked to conduct regular market inspections to check over charging, particularly by mutton and chicken sellers.
The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness and hygienic conditions in the city, besides checking the quality of mutton sold in the city. The meeting also discussed the deployment of police personnel to ensure fool proof security around Eid-gha and major mosques on Eid , Shab-e-qadar and Jamiat-ul-vida
DDC exhorted upon the officers to put in their coordinated efforts to ensure adequate arrangements during the auspicious days for the convenience of the people. He also urged upon the representatives of the social and Muslim organizations, besides general masses to cooperate with the civil administration so that the occasion was celebrated with true spirit.
