Cricketers protest Nehru’s statement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, August 24: A group of cricketers, led by Jagdeep Singh Bandral, today held protest demonstration against former JKCA secretary, ML Nehru for his `remarks’ against proposed cricket stadium at Bajalta in Jammu. Speaking to the media, Jagdeep said that Nehru, who is based in Kashmir, in an interview to a newspaper, wanted the work on stadium to stop terming the proposed site as flood zone. They said that Nehru had no right to speak against the dream project in Jammu just to appease those associated with cricket in Kashmir. These protesting cricketers also burnt the effigy of ML Nehru, who is also president of Whites Cricket Club.
