Huge losses of KP orchardists should be compensated | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, August 24: AIKS held executive meet under the chairmanship of C L Sadhu, senior leader of the organization, in which various issues confronting Kashmiri Pandit community was discussed. The delegation of the orchardists and the land owners who have suffered a huge loss due to displacement participated in the deliberations. Besides the martyr’s day programme was given a preliminary shape. Addressing the meeting Aryan Ramesh, organizing secretary of the organization, appealed to the government to take care of various problems of the orchardists and land owners who were dependent on the cultivation only. A suitable package should be brought out to help such displaced people so that their huge losses during last twenty one years are remunerated. Thanking the government for converting the schedule caste and schedule tribe category posts into open category, Ramesh hoped that remaining 3000 posts kept for Kashmiri Pandit unemployed youth under Prime Minister’s Relief and Rehabilitation are advertised. C L Sadhu appreciated the steps of AIKS Delhi for their consent and efforts to observe the coming martyr’s day collectively as a community. This is the time when we should give clear message that we are not the fragmented lot and our concerns are same. He appealed all organizations working in Jammu to observe the martyr’s in unison way. It is because that our directions and approach of highlighting the problems of the community are divergent and hence the government takes us lightly, he commented. The members present in the meeting lauded Ana’s crusade against the corruption and showed solidarity with him. Such movements of the public come once in hundred years. The continued injustice done to the general public results into such revulsion, they said.
