| CBI presents Challan against 2 CEs of NHPC, ors | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, August-25:-Central Bureau of Investigation/Anticorruption Bureau today presented first Ch arge-sheet after the creation of Special Court for CBI J&K, against two Chief Engineers NHPC and 10 ors in more than 38 Crores Electrification Contract under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY) for villages of Below Poverty Line (BPL) category in Udhampur district was awarded by NHPC to M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited for supply of material to the tune of Rs 29.06 crores and for execution erection work for Rs 9 Crores.
According to the Challan the Larson & Toubro used substandard materials procured from unapproved companies like quality steel products Ltd Kanpur and Advcance Steels Gangyal and after completion of investigation today presented 175 pages Challan against Babu Lal Gupta then Chief Engineer NHPC, Ashok Kumar Pandey then Chief Engineer NHPC, Madan Gopal Sharma then Assistant Manager, Subash chander Nayyar then Deputy Manager, Shiv Chand Ram then Senior Manager, Vijay Kumar Jain then ED(T&RE) NHPC, Rajesh Singh then Assistant Manager NHPC, Ram Dayal Manager M/S L&T, SK Chakraborty Sector Project Manager L&T, M/s Larsen & Tourbo Ltd, Shahsandra Dwivedi MD M/S Dee Control Pvt Ltd.
Special Judge CBI J&K Jammu . BL Bhat directed all the accused persons who were present in the Court to furnish bail bond and surety bond to the tune of Rs 1 lac each. JNF
