| 3rd Inter-Sector Sports Meet of CRPF | | Semis position cleared in handball, kabaddi | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, August 25: Semifinals line-up has been drawn in both kabaddi and handball events of the ongoing 3rd Inter-Sector Sports Meet of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Group Centre, Bantalab, near here today.
In handball, Central Sector, Northern Sector, Bihar Sector and Southern Sector have made it to the last four stages while in kabaddi, Southern Sector, North West Sector, Western Sector and Central Sector have qualified for the semifinals.
Now, the semi-finals have been scheduled for tomorrow at Group Centre Bantalab grounds in the morning and afternoon sessions.
Earlier, in handball quarterfinals, played today, Central Sector defeated North West 23-16 while Northern outplayed Special Sector in a wafer thin margin of just one point with final score on board being 13-12. Bihar trounced Tripura Sector 20-18 in a close contest and Southern Sector outplayed Rapid Action Force (RAF) 21-06 in a one-sided game.
In kabaddi quarterfinals, Southern Sector defeated Srinagar Sector, rather easily, 24-04. North West beat Northern Sector 38-26 and Western Sector downed Special Sector 36-24. Central Sector registered win over RAF 41-17.
