| Bhalwal zone excels in U-19 wrestling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, August 25: Young wrestlers from Bhalwal zone excelled winning three gold and one silver medal in the under-19 boys’ wrestling competition of Jammu district held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, near here today.
Wresters from Jammu zone were close in the medal tally with two gold and one silver medal. Both the gold medals were won by wrestlers from Government SRML Higher Secondary School.
About 30 wrestlers, selected on the basis of their performance in the inter-school competitions at the zonal level, contested for top honours in seven different weight categories.
Shamsher Khan, who contested in 60 kg weight group, was best stuff among the competitors after he defeated his opponents in one-sided bouts.
Meanwhile, the organizers also selected the Jammu district team for the forthcoming inter-district competitions.
