Rajendra addresses Durbar at CTC Lethpora

Srinagar, Aug 25: Additional Director General of police, Armed, Law and Order, K Rajendra Kumar today visited CTC Lethpora and held a Darbar with the recruits that are undergoing different trainings in the center.

Rajendra while addressing the recruits said that they should take keen interest in the training programs of the center as this training will serve as a foundation in the dispensation of their service to the state. The trainings not only bestow them with a robust health but also help them in building robust minds.

He impressed upon the recruits to learn people friendly policing as the cooperation of people is requisite to have an effective mechanism in place for prevention and detection of crime, and people’s cooperation

The ADG stressed upon the policemen to respect human rights of the people at all costs while dealing with anti-national and anti–social elements. He said that while the insurgency in the state is being handled with firm hands “it should always be our endeavor that during these counter insurgency operations there should be no collateral damage of human life or property.” He reiterated that no violation of human rights will be tolerated in any circumstances.

The ADG also said that gaining professional know how of investigation skills was necessary for better policing particularly imbuing the latest technology in the fields of IT and forensics in the investigations.

He added that new welfare measures are being introduced for all police personnel and their wards for betterment of the members of police family.

The ADG was accompanied by DIG Armed Kashmir T. Namgayal, SSP Suresh Sharma Principal CTC Lethpora and SP Awantipora Irshad Ahmad during his visit.

Meanwhile, taking serious note of reports of some missing weapons, Rajendra today directed Principal CTC Lethpora to initiate strict action against the delinquent officials responsible for such acts.

ADGP directed the SP Awantipora to identify the culprits and ensure speedy recovery of missing weapons and take necessary measures in the incident.
