| Cricketers protest against Nehru’s statement in Doda | | | Early Times Report
DODA, August 25: Cricket players including students of Government Degree College Doda and other educational Institutions of Doda under the banner of Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda held a protest against Kashmir Cricket Club President M L Nehru who was earlier the General Secretary of Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and burnt his effigy.
The cricketers were protesting against Nehru’s recent statement to the media where he had called for stopping work at Jammu International Cricket Stadium being built at Bajalta.
Speaking on the occasion, Patron YSCC Manzoor Ahmed Batt said that we will not allow any person to derail the Jammu International Cricket stadium project by spreading false rumors. He also said that we are not against cricket stadium in Kashmir but want equal development by JKCA at both Jammu and Srinagar.
Batt further thanked Chief Minister J&K Omar Abdullah for giving land for making this stadium at Bajalta and also thanked JKCA President Dr. Farooq Abdullah for approving the project for Jammu cricket stadium keeping in view to boost up the cricket talent in Jammu.
