RAJOURI, Aug 25: An ex-militant is alleged to have kidnapped a married woman from village Bhangai under the jurisdiction of police station Thanamandi in the border district of Rajouri.
Police is looking for the kidnaper but he is believed to be at large. Sources said that an ex-militant identified as Altaf Ahmed of village Bhangai has let loose a reign of terror in the area he resides. Due to his fear and terror, the people never dared to open their lips against him till he started attacking on their honor.
In his latest act, the said ex militant is reported to have taken a married woman with him and asked her relatives to remain shut up or face dire consequences. The kidnapped woman has been identified as 26 years old Akseer Kouser. Husband of the kidnapped woman, Alem Din told this correspondent that the said ex-militant has been visiting his house frequently for the past some months. "Two times earlier police restored my wife to me after long search but the kidnaper was never punished as per law. Now, he demands divorce of my wife and wants to marry with her", said Aalem Din adding that he will prefer to die but will never divorce my wife in such conditions . Another villager, Choudhary Subha said that the said ex - militant has let loose the reign of terror in the entire village and no body dares to speak against him as he is being patronized by security forces.
When contacted, SHO Thanamndi police station Chowdhary Niaz Ahmed said that the kidnapping drama is a matter of routine. However, he admitted that people are against the misdeeds of the militant while adding that the accused will be booked under law once caught. Search is on to nab him, said the SHO.
