| Mangat, Jugal jointly inaugurate polio surgery camp | | |
KATRA, Dec 2
Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma and Minister for Rural Development Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma today inaugurated 9th free Polio corrective surgery camp at Katra. The camp has been organized by the Radha Krishan Charitable Trust Ghalkope (Mumbai) and Rotary Club of Mumbai and Hawthorne.
Speaking on this occasion Minister for Health and Medical Education assured full cooperation from the state government for conducting such camps. He further said that no case of polio has been detected during the last 4 years and asked that such type of camps should also be organized in the remote areas of the state. He thanked the organizers of the camp.
He also announced that orthopedic surgeon will be posted shortly in the community health centre Katra to provide treatment to the patients.
Speaking on the occasion Mr,. Jugal Kishore Sharma thanked the organizers for rendering this noble job for the needy people of the society. He also asked the organizers to arrange such type of camps after 6 months in the state. He also sought the cooperation of public to achieve the target of polio free nation.
Earlier, Mr. Jugal brought some demands in to the notice of the Health Minister who is also Chairman of District Development Board Udhampur which include Tehsil status for Katra and Bhamaga, upgradation of facility’s in the community Health centre Katra keeping in view the importance of town which is camp of Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimages, Higher Secondary School for Girls and setting up of Government Degree College at Katra.
Earlier, Mr. Mahesh Parikh Chairman Radha Krishan Charitable Trust Ghatkopra Mumbai said that polio corrective surgery operation treatment would be given to the patients during the camp. He also informed that about 1200 patients have been performed polio corrective surgery operation treatment during the last 8 camps held at Katra.
Director Health Services Jammu Dr Jasbir Singh said that health employees of Katra hospital have been deployed to assists the organizers and assured full cooperation from the Health Department.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Reasi Mr. Ajit Kumar Sahai appreciated the efforts of the NGO’s and Social workers of the area who are in the service of mankind. Prominent surgeons and doctors consisting of Dr. Balbir, Dr. Rajnikant, Dr. Gatta, Dr. Karam assisted by para medical staff will be performing the operations and giving other treatment.
The presenting vote of thanks at the function by Mr. Kewal Padha social worker of the Katra town said that land for the construction of Polio Hospital will be provided free to the state government if a Polio Hospital is set up at Katra.
Among others President Municipal Committee Katra, Mr. Mulkh Raj Purhil, Additional SP Katra, Mr. Ashok Sharma, President Hotel and Restaurant Association Mr. Sham Kesar, President Indian Style Wrestling Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, President Travel Association Mr. Surinder Khajuria, BMO Katra Dr. Raj Paul Singh, Naib Tehsildar Katra Mr. Suraj Badyal and Councilors of the town were also present on the occasion. |
