Take effective steps to curb corruption, AJKMPJ urges govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 26: All J&K Movement for Peace & Justice (AJKMPJ) has urged the State government to ‘take effective steps to’ curb corruption in the state. They laid great stress on the need of being highly proactive and practical steps by the Chief Minister rather than issuing frequent statements against this menace. They said that hundreds of corruption cases are pending against the Ministers and Bureaucrats in the state and the government should take proper steps to' deal with them and book the people who are looting the public money. They stressed upon the urgent need of basic administrative reforms like strong, complete and functional "State Accountability Commission”, "State Vigilance Commission" and a purposeful powerful working of the "State Information Commission", where in the functionaries are to' be given enough powers to' act and take action and not to' be confined to' sending reports and turn out to' be institutions of show as Tigers without teeth. The discontent among the masses which was reflected in the movements launched by Anne Hazare & Baba Ram Dev is simply tip of iceberg and God forbid the iceberg might very soon hit the ship of our nation and conditions like those of French revolution might be repeated in the Indian Subcontinents. AJKMPJ urged the Chief Minister of J&K to ‘introduce a strong Lokauykta’ in the state before the people also' rise in rebellion. They have also' appealed the general public from every nook & corner of J&K state irrespective of caste, religion, political affiliation or region, come out with protest marches & rallies to' register their bald support of Anna. If we miss this opportunity to' strengthen this right movement, we will suffer to' much greater extent in future at the hands of the corrupt politicians, bureaucrats, adulterators and criminals as they will get further emboldened by the failure of such an honest movement. The members of the organization who' were present on the occasion including Deep Singh, Kuldeep Kumar , Dr G S Charak, R L Raina, S N Sapraa, Subash Chander, Behari Lal, Rashem Singh and Yog Raj Sharma.
