Jawaharlal Nehru Science exhibition in KV Sunjwan on August 26 and 27 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, August 26: Jawaharlal Nehru Science Exhibition organized by NCERT is being held at Sub regional Level in KV Sunjuwan. The theme is "Science society and Environment ". The various sub themes are (a) Agriculture food security and (b) Energy Resources and conservation (c) Health (d) Environment issues and concern (e) Mathematics and everyday life (f) Disaster Management. In the Exhibition 13 KVS and Eighty seven participants from Jammu and Akhnoor cluster are participating. Each school represented six model exhibits on six different subthemes. To popularize science a seminar on "International year of chemistry 2011" was also conducted. The chief guest on the occasion was Y P Singh Education officer KVS Jammu Region and the guest of honour was Professor Rajni Kant Head of Department Physics and Electronics. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Principal Usha Shamindra formally welcomed the chief guest, guest of honour and other dignitaries. To mark the occasion a short colourful bonaza was presented by the students. The guest of honour Professor Rajni Kant addressed the august gathering. He also created awareness on the scores of avenues available in basic science for research and development. The Chief guest Y. P Singh EO KVS Jammu Region motivated the teachers to develop a scientific temperament in the students and also inspired them to cultivate values which will enable them to live in harmony with nature. The Guest of honour and dignitaries surveyed the models and exhibits displayed by different KVS of Jammu and Akhnoor cluster. The innovation and scientific aptitude of the students was highly lauded by all.
