| CD, Aux. police launch plantation drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTR JAMMU | JULY 30 Civil defence and auxiliary police today formally launched a plantation drive to make Jammu a pollution free city, besides create awareness among the general masses with regard to importance of safe environment. The drive was launched by Mukesh Singh SSP Jammu at E.V.S colony in lower Roop Nagar by planting saplings of different species of fast growing trees. Sr. Civil defence wardner and voluntaries including Jugal Mahajan Chief warden, Vinod Malhotra and Paramjeet Kumar Dy. Chief wardner. Jia Lal Sharam, Dinesh Gupta, Kanta Bhau Divisional Wardners and Jagdeesh Kumar Dy. Div. Warden, Swaran Singh, Alok Nanda, Majit Singh, Post warden and Syed Zameel Shah, Sector Warden. Beside a large number of local participated in the drive. The drive will continue in other parts of the city during current monsoon season. This drive has been launched on the inspector IGP Home Guard, Civil defence and auxiliary police, Naveen Agarwal, and the drive is being conducted under the supervision Dy. Controller defence Manjit Kour. In his inaugural address Mukesh Singh expressing serious concern over the destruction of forest and said that the cause of soil erosion and environmental degradation. He called upon the Civil Defence and other Voluntary organization to come forward in a big way to make the plantation drive a great succession.
