| SVO produces challan against three including an Xen at Srinagar | | |

The State Vigilance Organisation produced challan against three officers including a former Executive Engineer on charges of promoting three officials in violation of prescribed rules. Divulging details, SSP Vigilance Gh hassan Bhat while talking to KNS over phone said that Ali Mohd Wani S/o Gh Mohd R/O Mahwara posted at Flood Spill Channel Narabal Budgam, Khursheed Alam Bhat S/O Gh Nabi R/O Rangar Chadoora and Mohd Shafi Khan S/O Ab Ghani R/O Devpora Dardpora Tangmarg were illegally promoted as Works Supervisors and Gauge reader in the year 2002. Clarifying Bhat said an orderly can't be promoted and Executive Engineers has no authority to issue such orders as per standing rules of the State Government. He claimed that the then Controlling Officer and Executive Engineer Ab Hamid KhanS/o Gh Nabi R/O Saderbal Hazratbal in connivance with Head Assistant Syed Hussain S/O Qasim Shah R/O Alipora Bagh-e-Ali Mardan Khan Srinagar and Accounts Assistant Ali Mohd Sofi S/O Gh Mohd R/O Sidiq Abad Batmaloo while misusing his position and powers promoted three orderlies in violation of the standing rules of State Government.
The Executive Engineer and Accounts Assistant, according to SP Vigilance, have retired. A case under FIR No;21/2002 was registered and illegality in promotions was detected during the course of investigation following which a challan was produced against six accused officials in the anti corruption court at Srinagar. |
