| ‘CM to announce empowerment of Pannhyats on Sunday’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Aug 27 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is scheduled to address a press Conference here on Sunday is expected to announce his government’s decision to empower newly elected panches and sarpanches before the media, sources told KNS.
They said Omar’s decision came in the backdrop of opposition Peoples Democratic Party’s tirade that the government wasn’t willing to empower the panchyats and recent threat by the newly elected members that they would resign if they aren’t empowered soon.
