JWAM holds protest demonstration against power erratic cuts

Jammu, Aug 27: A protest demonstration was held by the residents of Jammu West Constituency Janipur , Lakad mandi , Newplot , Sarwal , Rehari , Bakshinagar , Talab Tillo , Patoli against the failure of the Janipur Grid Station due to which the people of the constituency are facing regular 12-15 hours power cut daily and today it crossed all the limits when more than 10 lakh population of the Jammu city and constituency along with the Raj bhavan ,Sheetali water supply , Hospitals , schools were badly effected due to failure of the Janipur grid station.
The people came on roads with empty utensils under the banner of Jammu West Assembly Movement on the Amphalla -Janipur high court road and raised slogans against the PDD ministers.
Addressing the protestants Sunil Dimple president Jammu west assembly movement has strongly criticized the Power PDD &PHE ministries for their failures to provide drinking water and the un irrupted power supply and frequent scheduled and un scheduled curtailments, low voltage of the electricity in the winter capital Jammu City and particularly in the Jammu “west assembly constituency” as all the transformers of the constituency are defunct and of under capacity.
Sunil dimple alleged that it is very unfortunate that the department which falls under the direct supervision of the chief minister PDD the condition of that department is so miserable and the infrastructural transformers are in so worst condition inspite of so much collection of revenue in the Jammu region.
Sunil Dimple has demanded the chief minister Omar Abdullah for the installation of fresh "receiving Grid power station of 20 MV" at Janipur grid station as the present "existing station of the Janipur is not meeting" the requirement load of the localities falling under its juridiction
Dimple said the residents of the localities of the Janipur, Lakar mandi , Roop nagar, Shanta Nagar, New plot, Rehari, Sarwal, Jawahar nagar, Tali Morh, Subash Nagar, Patoli, Paloura ,Krishna Nagar, Colnels clony Tallab Tillo, Bakshi Nagar, Shakti nagar, Resham ghar, Krishna Nagar, Bhagwati nagar and the various localities of the west constituency are facing 15 to 18 hrs power cuts in this peak summer and humidity.
The prominent protestants included Ram Kapoor , Vineet Kumar , BansiLal Dogra , Vipan Kumar , Mukesh Kumar , Rakesh , Anu Sharma , Chuni Lal , Dev Raj , Kulwant Sharma , Varun Kumar , Jitendar Kumar , Ishwar das , Hans raj , Satpal Mahajan and many others.
