Community hall at village Panchari in Udhampur under Op Sadbhavna

Udhampur, Aug 27: Army in Northern Command is doing a yeoman service in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. While guarding the frontiers in the State, it is also helping the State Govt and the local population in various projects.
Reaching out to the people in the remote areas has been the basic philosophy of the Army in the Northern Command.
As part of Operation- Sadhbhavna, Dhruva Army MT battalion has constructed a Community Hall at Village Panchari in District Chenani.
Panchari is a remote village located about 40 km in the interiors of Udhampur in District Chenani. The villagers had approached the Army authorities at Udhampur sub area for construction of a community hall where they could organize various functions.
Being located in a remote area this village did not have any community hall.
As part of Operation Sadhbhavana, Army at Udhampur undertook the task of construction of a community hall in village Panchari.
On 27 Aug 2011, the Army dedicated the building to the villagers. It was inaugurated by Krishan Bhagat, MLA Chenani in the presence of the Army officers and all villagers of Panchari.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Krishan Bhagat thanked the Army for this noble gesture. He said that the Army has met a long outstanding demand of the local people by constructing this community hall which will of great use to the villagers.
He also exhorted all the local people to follow the path of peace and thwart the designs of anti national elements in this remote area of District Chenani.
Speaking on the occasion Colonel Munish Gupta, CO of the Dhruva MT battalion said that the Army attaches great importance to the development of the remote areas along with the district administration and will do all possible to reach out to the people in the remote areas.
He thanked Rampal, the sarpanch of village Panchari for making the land available for the project.
