Evacuee property tenants demand ownership rights

JAMMU, Aug 27: President of Evacuees Property Tenants Welfare Society (EPTWS) Inder Mohinder Tar Singh today sat on fast for seventy two hours commencing from today August 26 to protest against atrocities of custodian department towards tenants.

Other members joined Tar Singh and went on relay fast and the same way everyday relay fast will take place. Tar Singh while addressing the massive gathering said that our protest shall be peaceful as we the tenants are non-violent but the excesses of custodian department shall not be tolerated anymore.

Tar said that they strongly oppose the attitude and high handedness of the department. He said that many of the tenant houses are in bad shape. They demanded ownership rights over the properties at the earliest. Those who sat on one day relay fast included Suraj Prakash Sharma, Nazir Ahmed, Amjad Malik, Satya Paull Saini, Rattan Lal, Romesh Sharma, Rajinder Gupta,. Arun Gupta and Baldev Raj.
