31 bovine smugglers nabbed, 70 animals recovered

RAJOURI, Aug 27: As many as 9 cases of bovine smuggling have been worked out in the last 7 days in Rajouri district in which police has arrested 31 persons and recovered 70 animals from different places.
The illegal business of bovine smuggling has witnessed a sharp increase after Mughal Road has been put open for traffic unofficially.
In a press conference held at Rajouri, SSP Rajouri said that 9 cases have been registered in various police stations of Rajouri district against bovine smugglers in which 31 persons were arrested and 70 animals have been recovered.
These cases have been registered in Police Stations Sunderbani, Nowshera, Manjakote, Rajouri and Dharmsal. It is pertinent to mention here that all these animals were being transported to Kashmir for sale in several parts of valley.
