JAMMU, Aug 27: A woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at her residence here today while eight others made abortive bids on their lives.
Police said Mumtaz Bibi (25), daughter of Noor Hussain of Hakkal, Chatha, died after allegedly consuming poison at her residence.
In other unconnected incidents, Pritam Sharma of Mastgarh, Rohit Gupta of R S Pura, Mehak of Kalijanni, Rajinder Kumar of Digiana, Laru Ram of Hakkal, Chatha, Salma of Rajouri, Paramjit Singh of R S Pura, Champa Devi of Swankha, Madhu of Jib, Udhampur, and Kajal of Raghunath Pura, Udhampur, made abortive bids on their lives by consuming poison at their respective residences.
All of them were admitted to the GMC hospital. Cases in this regard were registered at the concerned police stations. |
