| PDP delegation meets HP CM | | Discusses functioning of Panchayati Raj Institutions | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SHIMLA, Aug 28:
A three member delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today called on Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal here today and held discussion with regard to functioning of Panchayati Raj institutions in the neighbouring State.
The delegation comprised three legislators of the party included Nizam ud Din Bhat, Choudhary Zulfikar and Basharat Bukhari. PDP delegation has been visiting different parts of the country on the directions of the party leadership to review successful functioning of Panchayati Raj system in other states.
During its meeting with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, PDP delegation discussed various aspects of the Panchayati Raj System in that State
They thoroughly discussed how Panchayats were empowered in this hilly state and how this institution has been strengthening with every passing year. Chief Minister Dhumal replied all queries raised by the visiting delegation of PDP leaders.
Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Tulsi Ram, president of the Pradesh Congress Committee Kaul Singh and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur were also present in the meeting
Earlier the delegation of PDP leaders had visited Karnataka and met Chief Minister of Karnatka Sadhanand Gowda and discussed with him functioning of Panchayati Raj system in his State. |
