KAWA-Gandhi Nagar “A” defeated New Modern College by 10 runs in the ongoing GKR Memorial Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament played at GGM Science College here today.
KAWA-Gandhinagar won the toss and elected to bat. The team scored 117 all out in 19.3 over. Paramjeet remained as top scorer with 27 runs in 34 balls and struck two fours. Touseef scored 15 runs in 14 balls with two fours. Gagan hit the ball over the boundary which is only one six of the match scored 14 runs in 19 balls. Sourav, Shakeel and Tahir claimed two wickets each. Rafique and Tahir bowled with tight line and length and conceded 12 and 15 runs in their allotted 4 over quota.
New Modern College openers started well but middled order batsman failed to chase. Sourav remained top scorer for modern college scoring 22 runs in 34 balls with one four. Rafique scored 18 runs with three fours. Remaining players didn’t able to get double figure. Salim, Harun and Asif claimed two wickets each for KAWA- Gandhinagar. New Modern College reached 107 for 9 in their allotted 20 over.
Harun from KAWA- Gandhinagar “A” declared man of the match. Pappu Dogra and Chunu were the umpires and Mohit Puri and B.B. Verma remained as the scorer.
The tournament is being organized by Roshni Cricket Academy.
