BJP may revoke suspension if MLAs apologize | | | EARLY TIMES REPORP Jammu, Aug 29 :- There seems some respite for the suspended BJP members at the end of four months of their political wilderness. The Party high Command may review their decision if the erring MLAs apologize and regret their anti-party activities. The good news was given by a senior BJP leader. He, however, had a bit of shock for them. “After they apologize, the Party high Command may not necessarily revoke the decision”, he said. Another senior leader interested in knowing the name of the person who engineered the move is willing to give the erring MLAs another chance. He ruled out revocation of the suspension order if the erring MLAs continued to treat Chaman Lal Gupta as their leader. The BJP leader explained that even if all the seven MLAS were readmitted in the party after they express regrets the Party High command has the right to either choose another MLA to head he party in the Assembly or allow Chaman Lal Gupta to continue as leader of the BJP in the lower House. The BJP leadership has conveyed time and again that the party was above individuals. Reports from the other camp are not very encouraging for the party. The suspended MLAs are defiant and seem in no mood to either apologize or regret their participation in cross voting. However, insiders said, the state unit of the party may recommend leniency for three MLAs. |
