| PDP invites separatists on iftaar party | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Aug 29 (KNS): Opposition People Democratic Party Monday invited separatist leaders on an iftaar party hosted by the party.
Sources told KNS invitations were sent to Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik, Hurriyat (M) leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone and Moulana Abbass Ansari by the party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
When asked Mirwaiz confirmed to KNS that he received the invite. Similarly Geelani’s spokesperson Ayaz Akbar also confirmed to KNS that invitation has been sent.
The PDP had also sent invitations to State Congress President Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, senior Congress leaders, Muzaffar Parray and Ghulam Nabi Monga. However, no one from National Conference was invited in the party.
Sources told KNS that no separatist joined the PDP iftaar party till this report was being filed.
General Officer Commanding, 15 Corps, Lt General Ata Hasnain was also invited. |
