Sopore police solves murder case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Aug 29 (KNS): Police have arrested a person allegedly involved in murder of a teenage girl in north Kashmir’s Sopore area. Police had found body of a 15 year old girl Bilkees Akther daughter of Abdul Majeed Malla of Akhoon Pora Hartar Sopore in the grass field in the outskirts of the village on August 16. The body had visible violent marks, a wound on head and neck of deceased girl was broken. Superintendent Police Sopore Imtiyaz Hussain told KNS that on the fateful day the victim had gone to the fields to fetch grass for cattle. “During investigation suspects were questioned and other circumstances that led to murder were also thoroughly probed by the SHO police station Tarzoo and investigation officer of the case S I Javaid Ahmad. It surfaced that on the same time and date one Mohammad Ibrahim Dar alias Jana age 24 years son of Ghulam Mohammad who is the neighbour of the victim was also cutting grass in the same field,” he said. “On being called for questioning the visible scares were found on his face and on the same date he had gone to medical practitioner for first aid to treat his wounds. There were other circumstantial and direct evidence available against the accused person. On questioning the accused person confessed his crime and revealed that he had attempted to molest the victim who resisted the move ensuing a scuffle and the accused killed her by breaking her neck and injuring her with scythe used to cut the grass,” he added. The SP said that on the instance and identification of the accused the weapon of the offence has also been recovered which shall be sent for forensic analysis. |
