A dedicated instructor gets President’s Police Medal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, August 29: Have the credit of training hundreds of senior police officers of the state with utmost dedication and devotion, Head Constable of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Babu Ram Sharma has been awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal on Independence Day. Belongs to village Panjtoot Dhok in Pallanwala area of tehsil Akhnoor, Babu Ram Sharma joined the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police’s 3rd battalion in 1982. Now, his 29 years of dedicated services have been recognized at the higher level. Begun his career as drill instructor in 1987, he never looked back and having the credit of training hundreds of police officers of different ranks. Presently, this soft spoken instructor is imparting out door training among the probationer DyPSs and Sub-Inspector at Police Academy, Udhampur. Before, his transfer to Police Academy, he remained posted at Police Training College Sunjwan as BHM up to 2009. Having been already acknowledged for his distinguished services and achievement in shooting competition, the then Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah awarded this trainer with out of turn promotion in 1996. “Don’t think you are not being noticed and judged by someone, especially when you are working with a disciplined force like ours. So, one must keep on doing good work to get noticed,” said Ajay Sharma, an under training KPS officer at Police Training Academy, Udhampur. |
